Gentle reader, today I decided to do a bunk. It wasn’t a decision I took lightly and I will most definitely walk the 15 miles from Miller’s Dale to Charlesworth at some stage but it was romance, not fear of the enduring fog, which persuaded me to stay at home. Today is our wedding anniversary and yesterday my husband flew in from Sydney. I beg your indulgence and understanding ..
I will be back in the saddle tomorrow, with a spring in my step .. and hopefully with spring in the air! x

Happy Anniversary Jules! You’ve been an awesome wife for 29 years (not to mention we stepped out together quite a bit before that!) and then you go and raise the bar with this Groot Trek… something special…

Happy anniversary to you too, my lovely beau .. you’re the best. Truly, the best. xx
You deserved a glorious day for both occassions! How happy you must have been to see Patrick and how proud he must be of you. You looked marvellous – not like a fully paid up member of the ramblers society at all! But I did wonder out loud to Jonathan this morning how you feet took to high heels….? Miss you and looking forward to the resumation (is that a word?) of the service to the Antipodes xx
The shoe horn came in very handy!! But when there’s dancing to be done I can always squeeze myself into a pair of heels!! Thank you Frannie for your lovely message. xx

Happy Anniversary you two – Jules you deserve a break. Some day I must show you my Edwardian photos of Millers Dale and other parts of the Peak District, although with the rain of the last few days you may just run screaming. Good weather forecast for the next week or more anyway. Keep up the good work!
Happy anniversary – I do remember your beautiful wedding! Much love to you both. Xx

Dearest Jules, hope it’s not too late to add my comment..I remember a certain Highlands Presbyterian Church for a certain blessing all those years ago! Sending you love as always xxx
And you were at my side! Thank you so much. xx
Happy Anniversary Jules and Patrick. What a change from the red hood to the gorgeous black hat!! I’ve been in the States and New Zealand, telling various family members about your incredible walk! I’m loving your blogs and photos and pictures. And as a Yank, I’m learning so much about your birthplace!! I sure do hope you get some better weather soon. The rain and mud is beyond belief to me! You’re a legend Jules.
Thank you, Angie .. it was good to have a day of glamour and celebration with our gorgeous young friends getting married. Great hearing how much you’re enjoying the blog .. I do so love writing it, even if it’s a bit rushed in the evening. Lovely to get your precious messages too! x
