I’m now on the count down for starting the Thames Trail! I’ve bought my boots and broken them in, the itinerary has been created with gorgeous people joining me for days here and there and I’ve read ‘Three Men in a Boat, To Say Nothing of the Dog’. I’ve done some training in hot and humid Sydney .. never realised it was quite so hilly! Walking the Trail starts at the Thames Barrier in three weeks .. yes, I know .. I’m walking it backwards but what would you expect from a woman who gets Heathrow mixed up with Gatwick, can’t tell her Bangkok from her Chiang Mai and misses flights as regularly as Donald Trump gets new hair extensions.
These are a few of my pics from my walks in sunny Sydney, in The Blue Mountains and in cool Queenstown, New Zealand. Next post will be from Westminster Bridge, after the first day’s walk! Please join me for drawings and tales of each day of the journey.
Looking forward to seeing and reading all about it Jules – see you in Oxford! Love from is all. Kate x
Kate! You’re up early .. have one of your rams got loose again? x
What a wonderful project and adventure!
I am very much looking forward to following your trail, viewing the scenery through your artistic eyes.
Wishing you fabulous weather on the way.
GO JULES!!!xxxx
Love
Petra
Thank you to the well wishes! Much appreciated.
I am so so disappointed that you’ve got rid of ‘squeaky’ boots…………they were just about to become famous through the Thames Trail and now they’ve been abandoned!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to speaking to you very soon. Helks xxxxx
My dearest Jules ,
What a wonderful adventure ! And such a great idea to share it with us through your blog … enjoy the serenity of the countryside you explore without (from what I read) your ‘squeaky’ boots
Big hugs and see you on your return

Looking at your photographs and then looking out of the window on the English grey vista, are you sure you have chosen the correct venue?
Looking forward to seeing you over here, we will be keen on-line followers, if not foot followers but hope to catch up maybe at a couple of pit stops..
See you in Lechlade if not before. Mandy xx
Dear Jules,
We will follow your path and blog. Should you need encouragement and survival tips please remember my dark past in the mountain infantry. In difficult moments I could yell at you via FaceTime.
Weiter marschieren !
Love and god speed Axel
Thank you Axel! You never know when you’re going to need to take defensive action!
What fabulous photos Jules. Very much looking forward to walking with you on 29th. Liz xx
Can’t wait, Liz! See you at 9am .. Will text meeting place as I’m not sure where will be best yet. Kisses
Dearest Jules,
Happy hiking. As a dachshund owner myslef, having two on the flight with you can only be a good omen. To great weather, few (if any) blisters and a wonderful and enriching life experience.
With love,
Linda
Good luck Jules
Sounds amazing what your going to be doing, and you’ll be the most glamorous walker with the best looking hair! ?
Look forward to hearing all about it!
